Avoiding the Meltemi winds, we have made our way to Paros, visiting its famous Monastiri Beach. At this utopia-like beach, you can enjoy the comfortable loungers and umbrellas, devour decadent dishes and desserts at the restaurant, or sample wines and drinks of the region from the bar. If action is more your thing, water sports of all types are available, in addition to the many ribbons of hiking paths. The land surrounding the beach is still lacking the rich, profuse plant life and is very dusty and dry. The sandier beach is a welcomed relief after all the pebbles on other beaches. The turquoise water is extremely salty but still very alluring. It was a much needed day of relaxation. Some say Paros is the up and coming Mykonos!
(07/09) Happy birthday Kristen!! Enjoy!!
(7/10) With the beach behind us, we are cruising our way to a marina for fuel and food. The winds have become a bit tricky, causing us to be diligent and giving the water the appearance of a navy blue shag rug. Once in port, we strolled through town, taking in the sights, and completed the evening with a mouth-watering pasta dinner under a fiery sunset.
