We have left our anchorage in hopes of moving down the coast to find a more protected anchorage since strong winds were predicted. We did find a well protected sandy area closer to shore where we watched wind surfers, sun bathers, and airplanes practice picking up water and then dumping it for land fires. The planes are quite impressive and hypnotic as well. I forgot how much the French love the water and water sports.
Unfortunately, the winds picked up later in the evening putting a damper on our hopes to get into a marina as well as lowering our provisions and spirits, both types! We ended up at anchor for the night; it was cold, rainy, and windy but not nearly as bad as the storm in Ajaccio, Corsica. We hate the cold weather.
