Today, we hopped the train and went to Monte Carlo, Monaco. It was super easy to navigate the rail system and a quick ride from Menton to there.
Monaco is its own entity in itself. The opulence and wealth is unbelievable, to say the least. This pristine town is home to several harbors filled with mega yachts and high end shopping, where the doors to the boutiques are guarded, and only a few customers are allowed inside at a time. Monte Carlo also is the home of the Grande Prix and the famous Monte Carlo Casino. And, the only cars that seem to zip down the narrow streets are Mercedes, Maserati, and Rolls Royce.
Here are some fun facts about the area: one out of three residents is a millionaire; the country has the largest police force in the world; it is the world’s second smallest country although it is one of the wealthiest and most expensive countries in the world; residents do not pay income tax; and residents live longest due to fresh food and exercise. Known for its mild climate and dramatic landscape, Monaco has become throughout the years a hub for culture, luxury, sports, and business.
