To Sorrento, 05/29, 2023

With another exceptional day of weather, we are off to anchor in Sorrento, midway to Positano. We are ecstatic to not be confronted with rain, the temperatures are warming, and the sun is extremely strong. Now, if only there was a bit more wind!

We were only in Sorrento for the night to provision, stretch our legs, and watch the final championship game of lacrosse, Duke versus Notre Dame, with a view of Mount Vesuvius to our side. The anchorage was located just outside the harbor making our stay very “rolly” and uncomfortable due to the constant shuffling of ferries and power boats. As I had mentioned, the further we travel south, we are noticing more and more sailing vessels. (Add in the abundance of water taxis careening along the Almafi coast to make the waters even busier!) I think tomorrow sailing to Positano will be like a mass exodus, a sheer chaos of boats.
